Smoking
No smoking allowed on designated "NO SMOKING" sites. Smoking will only be permitted in designated area on sites where permitted. Any employee caught smoking could be instantly evicted from the site.
 
Acceptable Behavior
While on site, you will be expected to perform all duties required, by the company.. Behavior which will not be tolerated:
  • Disputing the site supervisor's instructions.
  • Excess talking, where it interferes with the performance of your duties.
  • Mobile phone calls, either made or taken during working hours.
  • Behavior which could cause unnecessary stress or injury to another worker ie. practical jokes, play fighting, name calling.

Any deviation from acceptable behavior, during the performance of your duties could result in instant eviction from the site.
 
Harassment
Should you feel you are being unduly harassed during the performance of your duties, verbally, physically or sexually:,
  • Notify this office immediately.
  • Draw up a statement of facts, with precise, relevant details, which will be presented to the person/company concerned.
  • A conciliation meeting will be arranged to gather further information from all parties concerned.
  • A determination as to whether further actions need to be taken, ie laying formal charges with the correct authority.
 
Bag Checks
It is the policy of some companies to check all employee’s bags before leaving their premises. Should this be required, all employees must comply.
If refusal occurs, we will have no alternative but to comply with our client's policies.
This could include the involvement of the police, and will mean instant dismissal by Calibre Personnel Solutions P/L.
 
Register of Injuries
Should any employee be injured in the course of their duties, the Occupational Health and Safety procedures must be followed:
  • Report injury to supervisor immediately.
  • OH&S Officer to be contacted, and will attend site.
  • Injury register at company to be completed and signed by employee and supervisor.
  • Further action will be taken, as deemed necessary by OH&S Officer.
 
Protective Clothing
Safety boots are to be worn at all times and on all sites.
Safety vests must be worn on sites which require them to be. Other protective clothing ie: glasses, gloves, overalls, full suits, are to be worn if required, when working with either hazardous or non-hazardous chemicals, in conjunction with the site
 
policy on protective clothing.
Should you feel you require protective clothing, and the client refuses to supply that particular protective item, under no circumstances are you to begin that specific task. Contact the Calibre OH&S Officer immediately for information and further instructions on what to do next.
 
Wages
The majority of wages are determined by the current union awards or site agreements where applicable. Please ask Calibre Payroll for your hourly rate regarding the position you will be working in.
  • Pay week starts on Monday and ends Sunday. Payday is Friday and wages are paid directly to bank account of your choice, through electronic funds transfer.
  • If time sheets are not received by Monday of the new week, then you work one week and get paid the following week.
  • Any discrepancies on wage spaid, or hours worked, are to be direct to Calibre Payroll who will make necessary checks and adjustments.
  • Should you be handed your time sheet at the end of your working period, it is up to you to get it to your nearest Calibre Office immediately.
  • Please check your timesheet has been signed by the correct person, at the site you were working at.
  • lf we do not have a timesheet, we cannot pay you.
 
Union Membership
It may be necessary to be a union member on specific sites. You will be informed of this and a small fee will be deducted from your wages, and paid on your behalf to the appropriate union.
 
Superannuation
As your employer, we make the compulsory government contribution for your Superannuation. To be eligible for Superannuation, you must earn a minimum of $450.00 per calendar month in ordinary time only, for us to contribute 9% of the gross ordinary hour's amount. Payments are made to A.M.P. Superannuation or the Superannuation of your choice.
 
Reference Checks
To determine experience and suitability for any roles within Calibre, we will check all references provided to us.
 
Absenteeism
Any employee who does not show up to work without previously contacting Calibre Personnel with a legitimate reason for being absent, will not be allowed to attend that particular job, until such time that our office has made contact with the client, to establish whether or not you are required.
